What a great project! Thanks a lot for the great SW and website.
But.......
I am having a bit of an issue with my setup.
Setup:
Arduino MEGA 2560
Ramps 1.4
Drv8825 Stepper Motor Drivers
Nema 17 2.5 A Stepper motor (42BYGHW811)
SG90 Mini servo
Power supply (lab supply set on 12V)
All connected. Motor Drivers Vref set on 1V.
If I connect only 1 stepper motor all works fine. Current goes up to just around 0.6 A when "set home "and the stepper moves when using move pen to pPoint". After movement te current remains on 0.6 A to keep the stepper in position
If i connect 2 stepper motors and I move the gondola I get a screeking sound and the current flies up to 1.5A. The SW/FW keeps running but the motors freeze. Also the Voltage on my power supply drops from 12V to 8V.
Tried to change the motor drivers/ input Voltage / Vref current on the motor drivers / Step size setting in SW / Step size setting on Ramps board.
Any idea's what i am doing wrong?
