A Spectacular Paint of 3D Model

June 12, 2014

You know how to paint your 3D prints? Just spray ‘em! Nope - there’s a much better way we found at Redicubricks.

The piece tells the tale of painting a six-inch tall Atlas figurine printed in silver PLA. Obviously, this one was made from several pieces and then assembled in the correct pose.

We suggest you read through their entire post, as it shows there is much more to the story of painting than simply spraying the model with a monocolor. They use several layers of different paints, applied in different ways to achieve a completely different look.

The results are spectacular. Would you try this technique on your prints?
