How to change the text style of the title page?[edit]
In Tagalog version of Wikipedia, I found out a page named "Phantasy Star" created by @FourBowl5905100, but its title page isn't in italic style. So how to change its text style? PhinbellaMedia (talk) 11:46, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- @PhinbellaMedia: The easy way for your purpose is to use tl:Padron:Italic title. The English Wikipedia version has documentation. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:25, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

Question on uploading pics of historic building[edit]
How can I upload pictures of historic buildings? CHBrathe (talk) 23:27, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CHBrathe: Do you either 1.) have the copyright on the images or 2.) know that they have an acceptable license? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 01:51, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CHBrathe: The easiest way is to click on the "Upload file" link to the left of this page (Upload file or https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard) and follow the prompts. Don't worry about file size, file type, copyrights, etc.; there are enough built-in controls to correct any mistakes you might make during your initial "learning curve". Improving the user experience of this page[edit]
I had a couple of thoughts on possibly improving the user experience of this page, basically a matter of setting user expectations. I'd like to add something like the following. What do others think? The wording is only a draft.
This page operates primarily, but definitely not exclusively, in English. A number of people who visit the page daily or weekly can respond to questions in other major European and East Asian languages, and in Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew. We will do our best, usually through Google Translate or a similar tool, on questions asked in other languages. It can be useful to say in what language(s) you can read an answer. For example, if you can only write Malayalam but can read English, someone may be able to understand your question via automated translation and reply to it in English.
If after 24 hours no one has responded to your English-language question about how to use Commons—not even to ask for a clarification—it most likely means no one has an answer. Allow more time for languages where fewer wikimedians read and write them. Do feel free to add to edit the section with your question to say something like "It's been [e.g.] three days and no one has responded."
I'd also love to have a list of people who are willing to be pinged for questions that come in in various languages. For example, I can readily respond to questions in Spanish. - Jmabel ! talk 16:57, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

Should technical questions about templates be posted on the Help desk?[edit]
Are there any forums for technical questions about templates? I posted a question on the Help desk and no one is replying. Is there a place to ask technical questions about templates? Besides the template talk page. I am getting no response there either. Have all the technical people disappeared, or too busy with their jobs? I don't see anything specific for asking template questions on English Wikipedia either. See:
--Timeshifter (talk) 04:52, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
- It might be a better idea to ask technical questions at COM:VP. 4nn1l2 (talk) 05:01, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
- You can also ask the question on English Wikipedia's VPT, where you may probably get faster response and it will just work here as well. Ammarpad (talk) 07:05, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- I asked in several places. Problem has been solved. Thanks all. See: Template talk:Mbox. --Timeshifter (talk) 08:25, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

Growth team is looking for your feedback and ideas[edit]
Hello!
Have you heard about Growth team?
The Growth Team's objective is to work on software changes that help retain new contributors in mid-size Wikimedia projects. We will be starting with Wikipedias, but we hope these changes will benefit every community.
We are contacting your project today, because you may be interested by what we work on.
8 ideas we consider: tell us what you think about them!
We are considering new features to build, that could retain new editors in mid-size Wikipedias. We will be testing new ideas in Czech and Korean Wikipedias, and then we'll talk to more communities (yours!) about adopting the ideas that work well.
We have posted the 8 ideas we are considering. We would really appreciate your thoughts and the thoughts from your community. Please share the ideas, and tell us what do you and your community think of those ideas before September 9.
Share your experiences with newcomers
We want to hear about what is working and what is not working for new contributors in your wiki. We also want to hear any reactions, questions, or opinions on our work. Please post on the team’s talk page, in any language!
