CAN bus is a widely used bus standard in the automotive industry, and with this shield, your Arduino can speak to devices attached to the bus. The shield is built around the MCP2515 CAN bus controller, and the MCP2551 CAN bus transceiver. The shield is controlled using SPI, and a OBD-II to DB9 cable can be used to connect the shield to your car.
